The traditional method of assessing your soil is to study its texture. Soil texture is ascertained by looking at the content of different sized particles and will tell you how much sand, silt and clay you have. These components undeniably play a role in determining the suitability of the soil for growing plants, since they influence the physical properties of soil. However, there’s a larger factor at work within the soil, one that is able to engineer both the physical and chemical aspects beneath our feet. This is the biology.
