Karshamra Kitchen Gardens operate an organic vegetable growing business with an ethos based around promoting healthy relationships between culture, food and the environment. These values are much the same as our own and so when crops at Karshamra experienced low productivity with some suffering from certain crop diseases, we stepped in to offer our services.
To stay in keeping with their environmental ethics, the growers at Karshamra were keen to embark on an organic treatment plan in order to boost their organic vegetable production, both in quality & quantity. The growers were also eager to start using regenerative farming methods, as opposed to the more traditional methods that were being used prior to treatment.
During the 2017-growing season, eight different types of vegetable were treated using Radigrow and compost. We trialled two other treatment methods, one using just the commercial compost and one as a control group, which had no external input at all. Over just one growing season, an average of 72% increase in vegetable biomass was observed compared to the control vegetables. Interestingly, a 16% decrease in productivity was seen when the control group was compared to the supposedly high quality commercial compost group, which highlights the excellent standards of our own products and the importance of getting beneficial microbes into the soil.
